Architect Africa Film Competition

The Architect Africa Online Film Competition was conceived early in 2013 by the Architects Collective in acknowledgement of global trends around generating film content. Since the first Architect Africa Film Festival (AAFF) in 2007, the organisers have been aware of a pressing need for new content that documents South Africa’s built heritage,  and platforms the built environment issues in developing countries. The intention is to generate content on the built  environment in South Africa, Africa, and cities around the world facing similar conditions to ours.

The project  intention is to maximise the exposure of people to architecture, through relevant film content and the creative use of space for showing these films. A selection of the top films  from the Online  Film Competition will be screened at a  AAFF Film Festival, held at UIA 2014.  The competition is open to everyone interested in communicating their ideas on their cities, architecture and built fabric.
